AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Workforce Housing Foundation (TXWHF) announced a new partnership today with Eanes Independent School District (Eanes ISD) to provide rent relief for school district employees. The partnership – which was unanimously approved by the Eanes ISD school board on December 12 – comes with a $500,000 grant from TXWHF that will help offset rent prices for teachers and staff living in the city.  Additionally, TXWHF will provide funds annually to assist with rising costs.

"The Texas Workforce Housing Foundation is an organization with a proven track record with developing affordable accommodations for employees living on an educator’s income in numerous Texas public school districts. By establishing a formal partnership…we can leverage its expertise and eventually identify quality and qualified housing in Eanes ISD that will specifically benefit our employees," Eanes ISD Superintendent Dr. Jeff Arnett said.

“We value our ongoing partnerships with school districts who recognize the incredible value of supporting our educators through rent relief, and we look forward to working with many more districts across the state to close the critical gap within the broader housing crisis,” said Aundre Dukes, TXWHF President and Chairman.

Through the TXWHF program, after an educator completes an application form and provides documentation verifying their place of employment and income, TXWHF provides the subsidy on behalf of the teacher directly to property management.

TXWHF serves to bridge the gap between rising housing costs and the limited budgets of educators, ensuring that talented teachers can continue serving their communities without compromising their financial well-being. Currently, the affordability fund will provide between $3,000-$12,000 per tenant in rent reduction annually for the properties that are put into the program. This reduction is in addition to any reduction provided through financial assistance. With the ISD’s approval, TXWHF will acquire or build new apartments for the benefit of teachers and district staff.

The Texas Workforce Housing Foundation (TXWHF) is a non-profit entity that develops, acquires, manages, and maintains affordable housing projects.
